Each choice is special in its own way. All would make great gifts for your cat addicted book lovers. Or your book addicted cat lovers.
Why cat books? Several reasons, really. I adore cats. Cats appear in most of my fiction. And I enjoy promoting cat books for the holidays, because I frequently give or get them as gifts myself. And finally, so many people have a cat, that cat themed gifts are an industry. You can’t go wrong.
Today I am reviewing “Living Your Best Life according to Nala Cat,” by Nala Cat.
Yes, I am back to internet cats, but they dominate the cat landscape these days, so books featuring them are an obvious result. Nala is a Guiness World Record holder for being the most popular cat on Instagram with over 6 million followers, so she has earned her spot with the others I have chosen.
What I love about Nala is that she’s an ordinary cat in many other ways. She came from a shelter and her family uses her fame to advocate for shelter cats. She looks like a lot of ordinary cats that many of us have in our own homes.
This little gift book came out in April of this year. It appeals to Nala fans with pictures that haven’t been featured on social media before. And this book is mainly about the pictures, but if your a Nala fan, that’s what you want and expect. You want to see Nala’s slightly crossed eyes and cute expression set off by adorable outfits and poses. The book delivers.
Each photo has a caption. The three main themes of the pictures are “Dreams and Success,” “Love,” and “Life.” All are adorable. Many will appeal to her fan base, carrying over the Instagram feel. Nala holds her smart phone with the caption, “There’s always time for a selfie.” She wears a feather boa with the caption, “Be fabulous. Always.”
Some photos are more aspirational in nature. In one photo Nala wears a gold Christmas bow on her head and the caption reads, “You are a gift to the world.” In another she holds up her paw like a Japanese lucky cat and the saying is, “You are perfect just the way you are.”
This book is light fare in a small hardback format, perfect for a stocking stuffer. This is a great choice for just about any diehard cat lover, but the cute feel with an uplifting attitude will really appeal to grade school and teen girls, and many women. If you need to pick up one more gift, this is perfect.
